The Kuari Pass Trek is one of the most scenic treks in the Indian Himalayas, originally blazed by Lord Curzon in the early 1900s. Often called the 'Curzon Trail', it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayan Range and a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural tapestry of remote mountain villages. The trail winds through enchanting forests of ancient oak and vivid rhododendron, vast open meadows speckled with wildflowers, and offers front-row views of legendary peaks — Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Hathi Parbat, and Chaukhamba. Ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers, the Kuari Pass Trek delivers an unforgettable blend of adventure and tranquility.

Rishikesh to Karchi Village

Drive from Rishikesh through the Himalayan foothills, passing through the sacred confluence towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Chamoli. Arrive at Karchi Village by evening and settle in for an overnight camp under the stars.

Karchi Village to Akhrotgetha

Start with a gentle ascent through enchanting forests of oak and rhododendron. The trail is alive with birdlife, and you may spot Himalayan wildlife among the ancient trees. Akhrotgetha is a serene campsite where you spend the night under a canopy of stars.

Akhrotgetha to Khullara

Today's trek takes you to the beautiful meadows of Khullara. The trail offers stunning, uninterrupted views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Khullara's wide-open spaces and breathtaking vistas make it one of the most photogenic campsites in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Khullara → Kuari Pass → Khullara

The most exhilarating day. Push to Kuari Pass at 3,876 m for a 270° panorama of the majestic Himalayan ranges — including the revered Nanda Devi, India's second-highest peak. After absorbing the views, return to Khullara for the night.

Khullara to Karchi Village

Begin the descent back through the delightful forests and green pastures, crossing bubbling mountain streams. The return trail offers a chance to reflect on the incredible journey and capture final photographs of the peaks.

The drive back to Rishikesh weaves through the same gorgeous mountain landscapes. Arrive with cherished memories and a deep sense of accomplishment from completing the Curzon Trail.
